A Home-Grown Tradition for over 30 years!!

With continuing efforts to “think green”, support local farmers, and eat fresh fruits and vegetables – Square One’s Farmers’ Market is a tradition that has long been at the core of thinking green - buying locally.

However, shoppers aren’t the only ones who benefit from buying at the Farmer’s Market. Since 1974, the Square One Farmers’ Market has become a pillar of the community. It is also the longest running Farmer’s Market in a shopping centre in Canada.

Over the past 33 years, the Farmers’ Market has generated $5 million dollars to support local organizations like The Air Cadets, Canine Vision, Halton Sex Abuse Centre, Peel Children’s Safety Village and local hospitals, to name a few.

Located in the north-west parking lot (near Zellers), over 150 local farmers will gather Fridays and Sundays from early June to the end of October to vend their fabulous wares of fresh fruits and vegetables, jars of homemade preserves, eggs, maple syrup, fresh flowers and much more! Come by and chat with the farmers who are always keen on sharing tips about perfect ripeness, food preparation and even a recipe or two!

Not only are local foods the freshest and often the most economical choices, the benefits to your health and the environment are countless. Buying locally greatly reduces the energy and resources necessary to transport and store foods, while at the same time you help support Ontario farmers.
